Airlines and passengers moving through Namibia can once again count on uninterrupted refuelling at Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek, following the resolution of aviation fuel supply problems that had unsettled operations in recent weeks. The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has confirmed that Jet A-1 stocks are back to normal levels, with both fuel suppliers reporting that volumes are now sufficient to meet the everyday requirements of carriers operating out of the country’s main international gateway.
The disruption first surfaced in August 2026, when aviation fuel supplies at Windhoek came under strain amid concerns about possible fuel contamination in the regional distribution network. The resulting squeeze forced several airlines to rethink their operational planning, with some aircraft compelled to take on fuel at alternative airports before continuing their journeys. According to the NAC, fresh supplies have now been released to the airport after successful quality checks were completed this week, allowing normal refuelling activities to resume across the board.
