Ride-hailing giant Uber looks set to expand its foothold in the luxury travel market following its recent agreement to acquire Blacklane, a German-based global booking platform that connects users to private chauffeurs.
Uber Technologies confirmed the agreement to acquire Blacklane on Monday, March 30. While neither party has disclosed the financial details of the acquisition, the deal is expected to be finalized by the end of 2026, pending regulatory approval.
Should the deal go ahead as planned, it will mark a significant step in Uber’s steady expansion from a simple ride-hailing app to a full-service mobility platform for all types of travelers.
