The Tsitsikamma Suspension Bridge at Storms River Mouth will be closed from July 20 to July 31, 2026, while SANParks completes the final phase of a major refurbishment project.
For travellers planning a Garden Route road trip this month, the temporary closure means one of the region’s most photographed attractions will be inaccessible for 11 days.
SANParks has confirmed that all three suspension bridges across the Storms River gorge will be closed during this period for safety reasons.
The work has progressed ahead of schedule, and the bridges are expected to reopen on August 1, 2026.
