The planned strike of TAAG Angola pilots officially ended after airline management and the pilots union reached an agreement. After severely disrupting flight operations, the airline agreed to offer a higher pay package to its pilots to resume operations. It has ensured the public that it is always doing all it can to improve the well-being of its employees and is glad that it can resume the full scale of its operations.
Resuming operations
The airline has resumed its regularly scheduled flights to foreign and domestic locations. It has apologized to all passengers negatively impacted by the flight delays and cancelations associated with the strike. The company is rerouting all passengers to their final destinations as it is working on getting its flight schedule back on track, and the airline’s call center is in the process of contacting these passengers to ensure they are accommodated appropriately.
TAAG has shared that the process of rerouting passengers and resuming normal flight operations may take anywhere from 2 to 5 days to complete. It plans to renew these operations as quickly as possible, starting with the most demanding routes it services. The company management board has expressed appreciation for the patience and understanding of all its employees and customers.
A Chairwoman for TAAG, Ana Major, shared the company’s commitment to improving working conditions and the well-being of all its staff members. The airline has shared its gratitude for the opportunity to help its pilots by improving pay. Major stated,
“TAAG is strongly committed to improve the working conditions of employees, assure excellence in operations and greater customer experience. Thus, the sustainability of the company’s growth plan is a major task which we have been putting efforts since this Administration took office.”
