Qatar Airways has published details of frequency increases across key destinations in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East this year.
As previously reported the carrier has added an eight daily service between Doha and London Heathrow, following the acquisition of slots from Romanian flag carrier TAROM. The additional frequency takes the route from 49 to 56 weekly flights.
Qatar Airways also recently increased its Doha-Tokyo Narita service from 11 to 14 flights per week, while Amsterdam will be served with 11 flights per week this year, up from the previous seven (the route has been operating as frequent as twice daily over the winter).
And the carrier has increased its Doha-Madrid route from 14 to 17 weekly flights, which brings its jointly operated service with Iberia to a total of 24 weekly flights.
Other service frequency additions include:
- Damascus – increased from three weekly flights to 14 (this route resumed in January following a 13-year hiatus)
- Dar Es Salaam-Kilimanjaro – increased from three weekly flights to seven
- Entebbe – increased from seven weekly flights to 11
- Larnaca – increased from seven weekly flights to 10
- Maputo-Durban – increased from five weekly flights to seven
- Sharjah – increased from 21 weekly flights to 35
- Tunis – increased from ten weekly flights to 12
Business Traveller also recently reported that Qatar Airways will increase its Doha-Berlin schedules from 18 to 21 weekly flights starting from 10 July.
And the carrier is set to launch flights to Bogotá and Caracas from “early summer 2025”, although schedules have yet to be announced.
Fellow ME3 carrier Emirates recently announced new routes to Shenzhen, Da Nang and Siem Reap, and Etihad is set to launch flights to ten new destinations in 2025.
