Proflight Zambia, a leading Zambian airline, has announced the launch of its new direct flights between Lusaka and Cape Town. This marks the first ever direct route between the two cities.

Proflight’s new route to Cape Town will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using its 50-seat CRJ jet. The flying time will be approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes, making it a quick and convenient way for travellers to reach South Africa’s legislative capital.

With this new service, travellers will no longer need to transit through Johannesburg, which was previously the only way to get to Cape Town from Zambia. This offers greater flexibility and convenience for travellers, making it easier to explore the region.

Proflight already operates three South African routes, including Lusaka-Johannesburg, Ndola-Johannesburg, and Lusaka-Durban. The new Cape Town service is Proflight’s fourth South African route and is timed to connect smoothly with Proflight’s early morning Ndola-Lusaka and evening Lusaka-Ndola flights.

“We are seeing growing demand for flights between Zambia and South Africa, hence the time is now right to launch this new direct service to Cape Town,” said Proflight Zambia Director Flight Operations Captain Josias Walubita. “Travellers can be assured of a safe, reliable and friendly service that adds further freedom and flexibility to explore the region.”

Cape Town is one of the world’s top tourist destinations and is known for its stunning natural beauty, including the iconic Table Mountain. The city is also an important commercial hub and a leading centre for regional conferences and exhibitions. This new direct route will provide greater access for business travellers, tourists and locals alike, further enhancing the economic and cultural ties between Zambia and South Africa.

Proflight’s new direct service to Cape Town is a significant development for the aviation industry in Zambia and will undoubtedly provide a boost to the tourism and business sectors. The airline’s commitment to providing a safe, reliable and friendly service will no doubt be welcomed by travellers, and its expansion into South Africa demonstrates its continued growth and commitment to meeting the needs of its customers.
