Emirates has officially launched its new daily service to Shenzhen, marking the airline’s fourth gateway in China.

The airline’s inaugural flight, EK328, touched down at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport on 1 July, with passengers who flew on the inaugural flight from Dubai receiving special gifts and certificates to commemorate the occasion.

Emirates now offers 42 weekly flights to four cities in China – Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.

Operated by a four-class Boeing 777-300ER, Emirates flight EK328 departs from Dubai at 1005, arriving in Shenzhen at 2200.

The return flight EK329 departs Shenzhen at 2355, landing in Dubai at 0340 the next day.

Passengers flying to Shenzhen can enjoy an elevated experience onboard one of Emirates’ recently enhanced Boeing 777-300ERs, offering 8 private suites in first class, 40 lie-flat seats in the new 1-2-1 business class cabin, 24 seats in premium economy, and 260 seats in regular economy class.

Shenzhen is the first city in China to receive Emirates’ retrofitted aircraft with upgraded cabin interiors and premium economy class.

From 30 July, the carrier will also launch a daily service to a new fifth destination in China – Hangzhou.

Separately, going forward, Emirates says it will be layering on more retrofitted 777-300ERs and Airbus A380s on its existing schedules to Shanghai and Zurich; expanding Milan, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires schedules; and upgrading its services to Shanghai and Singapore with A380 deployments.

After being served with a retrofitted 777-300ER from 20 July, the airline will upgrade its services to Shanghai on the EK302/303 to the Airbus A380, and the airline’s second daily flight to the city, EK 304/305, will be served with a retrofitted 777-300ER aircraft.
