The first Emirates A350 aircraft has entered commercial service on the carrier’s route between Dubai and Edinburgh.
Emirates has a total of 65 A350s on order, and further deliveries will see the airline roll out the aircraft onto flights to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kuwait, Bahrain, Colombo, Lyon, Muscat and Bologna in the coming months.
The carrier’s A350 is configured with a total of 312 seats – 32 business class seats in a staggered 1-2-1 layout, 21 premium economy seats (three rows of 2-3-2), and 259 economy seats in a 3-3-3 layout.
The addition of the A350 to the Edinburgh route means Emirates now offers daily A350 flights to the Scottish capital, and daily A380 services to Glasgow.
Flight EK23 departs Dubai at 1450, arriving into Edinburgh at 1905, with the return leg EK24 leaving the Scottish city at 2040 and landing back into Dubai at 0805 the following day.
Commenting on the news Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ deputy president and chief commercial officer, said:
