British Airways has added Cape Town as its latest Avios-Only flight destination, with more than 500 seats available across two flights during the festive Christmas season.
Members of The British Airways Club can redeem 70,000 Avios plus £150 for tickets on the following flights, operated by Boeing 777 aircraft:
- 20 December, 2025: London Heathrow to Cape Town (BA43)
- 2 January, 2026: Cape Town to London Heathrow (BA42)
Members can also use companion and upgrade vouchers where applicable.
BA first launched the Avios-Only initiative in 2023, with initial routes from Gatwick to Sharm El Sheikh and Heathrow to Geneva.
Since the launch, the airline has operated 34 Avios-Only flights to 15 destinations including Las Palmas, Lanzarote, Tenerife, Nice, Florence, Mallorca, Faro, Corfu and Ibiza, and Dubai.
Iberia has since followed sister carrier British Airways into the realms of Avios-Only flights, with the airline having launched the initiative on select services from Madrid to Santorini and Catania for Iberia Plus members.
