SAA CEO throws in the towel
SAA CEO, Vuyani Jarana, has resigned.
According to his resignation letter to SAA board chairperson JB Magwaza, Vuyani cited uncertainty about funding and slow decision making processes that were delaying the airline’s turnaround strategy as reasons for his resignation, Fin24 reports.
“The strategy is being systemically undermined and as the Group CEO I am no longer able to assure the board and the public that the LTTS (long term turnaround strategy) is achievable,” he said.
Vuyani was appointed as CEO in November 2017 and was tasked with bringing the beleaguered airline back to financial health.
Vuyani will work a three-month notice period, ending August 31
