Changes to Unabridged Birth Certificate requirements for SA citizens

Take Note – Changes to Unabridged Birth Certificate requirements for SA citizens

The Department of Home Affairs has announced that airlines may accept South African minors travelling to South Africa with South African passports onto their flights without travellers having to present the Unabridged Birth Certificate.  “Such minors will be assisted by Immigration Services upon arrival at South African ports of entry,” the Home Affairs statement reads.

South African minors departing from South Africa with South African passports will still need to present all the documentation as specified in the advisory on the Department’s website.
